Applications open JANUARY 6

Every year, Texas Tech Parents Association awards thousands of dollars in scholarships funded by donations to our scholarship endowment. These scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen, new transfers and current undergraduate students. TTPA scholarships are awarded based on a variety of factors including academic merit, financial need, and field of study.  Our scholarships are in addition to University or Alumni scholarships, and require a separate application, which is accessed on this website.

Please read all of the information below before you begin the application to ensure you fill out all of the information properly. Once you have read all of the below, click Apply Now at the bottom of the page. Do not skip to the bottom!

Q. May a parent fill in the application for the student?

A. NO.  Students must fill in the application.

Q. Where do I find the TTPA Membership number?

A. Parent logs into parent member account, access "Manage Profile" click "membership card."

Q. What are student qualifications for scholarships?
A. Student must be enrolled full time in both fall and spring semesters - at least 12 hours during each semester.

Q. Is it necessary to fill in more than one application if I wish to be considered for more than one scholarship?

A.  No.  The Scholarship Selection Committee applies each application to all scholarships for which a student qualifies.  Scholarship recipients will be awarded only one scholarship in an academic year.

Q. What are the criteria for Texas Tech Parents Association Scholarships?

A. Scholarship criteria varies according to the bequests of the original donors who established the scholarships or by the Texas Tech Parents Association. Some scholarships consider financial need while others are merit-based and some are a combination of the two. When filling out the application, answer everything completely. A listing of our scholarships and their criteria may be found in our Scholarship Handbook.

Q. Once submitted, may information on the application be changed?

A. No. Once submitted, information provided on the application may not be changed. If the applicant has a change in status (GPA, high school ranking, email address, phone number), send an email to Write in the subject line “TTPA Scholarship – Status Change.” The status change MUST BE provided before the deadline.

Q. Are there requirements for accepting a scholarship?
A. Yes. Scholarship recipients agree to participate in an activity in which they are acknowledged. In addition, scholarship recipients agree to allow their image to be used for promotional purposes without compensation.

Q. How are scholarship awards applied?

A. Scholarships awards are divided in half, with one-half applied in each semester.
